Our Mission

HARIT, Haryanvis in Texas , is a non-profit organization based in Dallas TX. It is formed to improve cohesiveness in the community by promoting cultural events, education, senior citizen meetup, career development, & charitable events. The organization is started by like-minded individuals connected together with common thread of rich Haryanvi culture, but it is not confined to the people of Haryana, we welcome everyone from the neighboring states to join us. We aspire to create a vibrant Haryanvi community with a sense of belonging for all members by providing supportive services & opportunities for the families and individuals. We promote Haryanvi culture by organizing community events on Teej, Holi, Makar Sankranti, Diwali and other festivals. We also partner with other non-profit organizations supporting education of underprivileged children in India.

About Haryana

  • Haryana State was formed on 1 Nov 1966 by separating it out from Punjab.Himachal Pradesh was also separated out from Punjab at the same time and became a new state.
  • Agriculture is the main occupation and the land is mostly irrigated by submersible pumps and canal system.This state contributed heavily towards the green revolution and made nation self sufficient in food crops production in 1960's.
  • Haryana is the first state in India to have 100% rural electrification.
  • Haryana is one of the most economically developed regions of South Asia.
  • Number of factories like Hindustan Machine Tools produce tractors at Pinjore, Haryana Chemical Industries at Bahadurgarh, Steel and Cotton Spinning hub at Hissar, Indian Oil Corporation, a urea manufacturing plant at Panipat
  • Surajkund is internationally famous for its Crafts mela which is held from 1st to 15th February every year.
  • Brahma Sarovar of Thanesar (Kurukshetra District) is considered of great religious importance as per Hindu beliefs. It is also famous religious tourist spot of Haryana.
