ABOUT HARIT ORGANIZATION
Haryanvis in Texas (HARIT) is evolving into Greater HARIT—an inclusive community that brings together people connected through the shared cultural heritage of Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Delhi. The name HARIT reflects our roots and identity. Derived from “Harit Pradesh,” it signifies green, cultivated land—symbolizing growth, prosperity, and a deep connection to the land and traditions that define our heritage. Rooted in the rich legacy of Greater Haryana—often regarded as a cradle of ancient Indian civilization—this broader region shares deep historical, cultural, and social ties that extend beyond modern state boundaries. Across Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Delhi, communities are united by common traditions, language influences, folklore, and values shaped over centuries. Greater HARIT celebrates this shared heritage by fostering connection, inclusivity, and community engagement—creating a welcoming space where individuals and families from all backgrounds can come together, preserve culture, and build a strong, connected community.
